The rumor mills are spinning, will Marshawn Lynch return to the Seattle Seahawks for next season… will be retire or play for another team.

Lynch, 29, is injured and had surgery for his sports-hernia that is has him expected to be on the bench for 4-5 weeks.

After last season, Lynch made some comments that he wanted to retire, but that didn’t happen when he came back to the Seahawks for a two-year contract extension.

So far, Lynch has 2,144 career rushing attempts, the 34th highest total in NFL history and like what Jason La Canfora said on CBS on Sunday morning, “He’s nearing age 30, all the guaranteed money in the latest renewed contract was paid in year one, he’s talked about retirement int he past, they have cap issues all over that locker room now… continuing to carry Marshawn Lynch at $10 million per year is not really going to be feasible for them.”

Lynch was not added to their IR list because they have hopes that he will be well before the season is up, especially if the Seahawks make it to the playoffs and anything after that.

The Seahawks are 5-5 in their season and are a long shot for to win the NFC West… they’re one game behind the Falcons for the Wild Card spot too.

Since Lynch is due to cost the Seahawks $11.5 million against their salary cap for the 2016 season and $12.5 million in 2017, it seems like Lynch should be taking or asked to take a pay cut to help that cap issue out.

If he decides to not return to the Seahawks, which team looks like a good fit for him?
