Wu-Tang Clan in concert

Wu-Tang Clan is something to f*ck with.

Remember when the group announced they were selling a top secret album? Well, it’s been sold for a pretty penny.

With the help of auction house Paddle8, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin now has a new owner. According to Forbes, the unnamed auction winner purchased the secret album for over one million dollars.

The private American collector who purchased Once Upon A Time In Shaolin received a double-disc of the hip-hop collective’s most secretive work, including a leather-bound book with the album’s lyrics, stories behind each song, a nickel silver box designed by Yahya, a gold-leafed certificate of authenticity and a pair of customized PMC MB2-XBD speakers worth $55,000.

If you think you’ll hear the album anytime soon, think again. The reality is you’ll probably be dead before it’s released to the general public.

Once Upon A Time Shaolin has an 88-year copyright that prevents the owner from sharing the music. According to producer Cilvaringz, “After 88 years the copyright, which includes public and commercial rights, automatically transfers to the owner of the work. However, it will still be his or her choice at that [point] to release it or not release it.
