Houston rap icon, Scarface, member of the platinum group, The Geto Boys, won the “I Am Hip Hop Award” at 2015 BET Awards.

After receiving the award in Atlanta, something happened that I’m sure he didn’t expect after receiving his award, the Geto Boy front man was arrested for alleged unpaid child support.

He was finally released Friday (October 9) and issued a statement in regards to why he went to jail and to correct some misinformation.

“First and foremost I would like to thank my supporters for their concern during my recent arrest in Atlanta,” Facemob told AllHipHop in a statement. “While we have resolved the issue I would like to correct some misinformation. The amount reported that was owed is inaccurate and I had no knowledge about there being an arrest order for me as I have traveled to Atlanta many times; with the latest trip being in September to perform at the One Music Festival. Due to the nature of the case [having a minor child involved], I will make no further comment at this time.”

Scarface just recently released his 12th album and first album in seven (7) years, Deeply Rooted and also a book, “Diary Of A Mad Man.”
