When a girl gets married, generally, she wants her dad to walk her down the aisle… or at least that’s the fairytale of a wedding.
Brittany Peck wedded in Ohio and was getting walked down the aisle by her biological dad when he, Todd Bachman. Her bio dad decided to flip the script and he made the decision to stop mid-aisle and grabbed her step-father, Todd Cendrosky to help walk Brittany down the aisle.
The photographer Delia D Blackburn, said in an interview, “He told me: I’m going to do something special. Be ready.”
Even though the two men haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, he knew that the stepfather needed to be involved too.
The bio dad said, “For me to thank him for all the years of helping raise OUR daughter wouldn’t be enough. There is no better way to thank somebody than to assist me walking her down the aisle.”
The stepfather said, “[Brittany’s biological father] came and grabbed my hand, and said: ‘You worked as hard as I have. You’ll help us walk our daughter down the aisle. I got weak in the knees and lost t. Nothing better in my life, the most impactful moment in my life.”
The gesture was the right thing to do and it had the bride, the photographer and the guests balling in tears from it all… the photographer had more than 700,00 likes and 305,374 shares just from the pictures that told the story.
The bio dad said too, “A lot of families can relate to our situation.”
He’s right too!
