It’s officially one hot summer in Texas!!
Unfortunately, looks like Houston wasn’t the only one that hit record heat temps this week too, the people of Allen, Texas has also found out just how hot it really is.
According to Matt Garnet of the Dallas Morning News’ report, Dallas saw a record high of 106 degrees and since high schools are beginning their football practices, Allen High School had one of their hottest practices in 13 years.

According to a study done by Penn State’s Sport’s Surface Research, “synthetic turf is generally 35 to 55 degrees hotter than natural grass.”
This would mean that their practicing field was roughly 135 to 155 degrees on Monday.
It was @anthonytaylor, a Senior cornerback at Allen High School who decided to tweet a picture of his cleats. You can clearly see where the glue failed and the cleat was coming apart
