Man Hold Up! — Today is National Hot Dog Day. Of course, that means getting killer deals on the all-American classic. Sonic Drive-In will be offering both the “Chili Cheese Dog” and their “All-American Dog” for just $1 all day, while 7-Eleven will be offering their “Quarter-Pound Big Bite” hot dog for also a-dollar, at select locations. Even Capitol Hill joined in the celebration prematurely, by hosting its annual Hot Dog Lunch last week. It’s put up by the North American Meat Institute and brings staffers and lawmakers together to enjoy the meal, while mingling with baseball legends.
According to the National Hot dog and Sausage Council, about 20-billion hot dogs are consumed per year in the U.S.
