When the news originally hit that Mayweather wanted his final fight to be against De La Hoya, De La Hoya said no way! He said he was happily retired and wasn’t jumping back into the ring again.
Something must have changed in him because supposedly he is considering a comeback.
At his age of 42, De La Hoya isn’t exact trained and primed for a fight, especially a fight against the two men he named as possible contenders…. Floyd Mayweather, who he fought against in 2007 or Gennady Glolovkin aka GGG “Triple G”.
These men are powerful and hard hitters.

He said, “It’s got to be worth my while but this is very serious. The only reason I would come back is because I miss the competition of fighting the very best.”
Last year in 2014, De La Hoya was inducted into the Hall of Fame too and despite his constant battle with substance abuse that he’s overcome, he’s insistant that he’s feeling ready for a fight comeback.
“I feel amazing. In my life right now, I have so much motivation. I am so hungry and so determined. i am young, I am healthy and I feel great… 42 is the new 32.”
He also went there saying, “I just feel great physically. I’ve been taking care of myself. I’ve been doing the Bernard Hopkins lifestyle. You can turn the clock to a certain time.”
“I just fee good and when I walk the streets, everyone tells me, ‘You have to fight Floyd again, you have to fight GGG. You can do it, you can do it.”
What do y’all think, can he do it?
