I’m sitting with my son. He just graduated high school and he is all set to go to Sam Houston. However, he just said to me that he doesn’t want to go to school anymore and that he wants to pursue acting and continue working at a local theatre. While he is a good actor and he’s been in a couple of plays, I told him he needs to go to school and take his general classes while still keeping his goals of being an actor. He said four years is too long – and he needs to pursue his dream now-while he is young. He also said he may want to move to L.A. to follow his dream. I know as a parent, I’m suppose to tell him to go to college, but is it really necessary? Do you really need a college education?
