When three people of different statures are telling me about an artist, I know I need to take their suggestion into consideration. One of my late night hype listeners (@Nickoserna90) was one of the first to tell me about Oakland, California’s Kehlani. Then a week later, I saw my role model Nick Cannon post about this young lady on his instagram. When my good friend (@s.a.y.s.o.) told me that he was jamming to one of the song’s off K’s mixtape, I made sure to purchase it on iTunes as soon as it dropped last Tuesday, April 28, 2015! Kehlani managed to get a million plays of her new project “You Should Be Here” within the first 24 hours of releasing it. She’s definitely one to watch out for.
