MAN HOLD UP! Spring Break is ending for my kids, but I know HISD is doing it next week…here some cheap places to take the kids…have fun!

1. DISCOVERY GREEN – Next week is Discovery Stem: Spring Break, a week of free activities in the park from 10 to 4 concerning Math, Science and Technology–that’s at 1500 McKinney

2. HOUSTON LIVESTOCK SHOW AND RODEO – the Rodeo has Value Wednesday where you can save money on seats, rides and food – you can purchase tickets on-line.

3. MAIN STREET THEATRE – is offering some matinee tickets at 1:30 for half price for the kids play “The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley” – you can buy tickets online.

4. THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF HOUSTON – the Museum has plenty of activities throughout the week they have jugglers, dancers and more! Thursday May 18th is Free Family night from 5 to 8pm – The Museum is located at 1500 Binz

5. IKEA HOUSTON – On March 17th- Ikea Houston has a free Children’s Creative Workshop from 6 to 7…it’s also Kids Eat Free day – so it’s swedish meatballs for dinner!

6. HOUSTON MUSEUM DISTRICT – Enjoy Seven Museums for free on Thursday – I’m talking about Houston Museum of Natural Science: 2 pm – 5 pm, Children’s Museum of Houston: 5 pm – 8 pm, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston: 10 am – 9 pm ,The Health Museum: 2 pm – 5 pm , Holocaust Museum Houston: 2 pm – 5 pm , Houston Museum of African American Culture: 6 pm – 8 pm  and Buffalo Soldiers National Museum: 1 pm – 5 pm

7. GEORGE HISTORICAL RANCH – All nest week the Ranch will have their “Farm or Table” Spring Break Celebration.  Kids can get a chance to plow, learn how to ranch, and more. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 5-15. 

8. HOUSTON ZOO –  College students with a valid ID from the University of Houston, Rice University, St. Thomas University, and Texas Southern University get free admission. Admission for everyone else: $16 adults, $12 kids age 2 – 11…not that bad…

9. SPACE CENTER HOUSTON – Man hold up! They have a lot of stuff at SPH. It’s not entirely cheap-but it you want to splurge this is the place to go. They have Pi Day, Space Scavenger Hunt, Meet the Meteorite Hunters, and the Curiosity Expo. Buy tickets online and you can save 3 bucks! Space Center Houston is located at 16-01 NASA Parkway.

10. REAL CHEAP – HOME ACTIVITIES – FAMILY BOARD GAME TOURNAMENT – we’ve been doing that it’s been great- FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT -also great (and cheap)!
