(Freeport, TX) — Animal abuse charges could be coming against a Freeport couple who taped their dog’s mouth shut to keep it from barking. Police say the dog was found chained to a tree in the front of the couple’s Brazoria County’s home, about 60 miles south of Houston. Neighbors tell authorities it’s not the first time they’ve seen the dog’s snout wrapped up in white athletic tape.
