The director of ‘Red Tail’ and the producer of ‘White People’ came together with Ben Cory Jones with HBO with a new comedy called “Bros Before Hos”.
The story is “loosely” based on Jones’ real life as a gay black man who has two non-gay brothers. The show a developing African American comedy that has the 3 brothers who talk love and relationships. It has Marshall, the older brother, Aiden, the brother who is getting divorced and Kendall, the younger brother who is “gay”.

Jones did an online interview about the show and he said, “it’s a family story about three brothers, who happen to be black, and one who happens to be gay. There seem to be more stories that deal with their interior lives of black women, but it’s hard to find stories that deal with the interior lives of black men. We’re either thugs or athletes, but there’s so much more to who we are that falls in between the spectrum. It’s ironic that in 2014, and even with a black president, one of the hardest things to be in this country right now is a young black man.”
The pilot presentation is soon to come, but until than, check out the trailer teaser here.
