A second death was confirmed Monday after the Marysville-Pilchuck High School shooting in Washington.
Gina Soriano, 14, was amongst those hospitalized with critical head injuries, but late Sunday night, “she succumbed to her wounds,” Providence Regional Medical Center said.
15-year-old Jaylen Fryber, the newly announced homecoming prince, opened fire inside the crowded school cafeteria bringing four students to the hospital, including his two cousins.
The Marysville school district has not provided detailed information regarding the shooting, but student Jordan Luton was able to paint a picture of the chaos, according to CNN.
Jordan said he saw Jaylen approach a table a students and fired about six bullets into their backs. He also told CNN Megan Silberberger, a teacher, was the true hero that day as she was the one who ran towards Jaylen and stopped the shooting.
Zoe Galasso, 14, died on the cafeteria floor and the three other students remain hospitalized. Shaylee Chuckulnaskit, 14, and cousin Andrew Fryberg, 15, are in critical condition. Cousin Nate Hatch, 14, is in serious condition
