Texas A&M University and Addias have come together for the Aggie football players to wear a throwback uniform for this Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe’s home game.
The “vintage-style” uniform was made to show honor to the Aggies’ 1939 National Championship team.”
The items that are considered throwback will be the players helmet, cleats and a commemorative patch with 1939 on it. These items are resembling everything that the Aggies’ football player wore in 1939.

The helmet is described on A&M’s website as “dark maroon with a hydro film leather-like texture featuring wing and cross graphics created using high-resolution photographs of an actual helmet worn by the ’39 team. The helmet also features simulated stitching, wear-and-tear and raised ear protection painted by hand via HGI artists…
“Each helmet shell carries a stenciled AMC brand, referencing the ‘Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas’ as Texas A&M was known in 1939.”
The actual jerseys and pants are remaining “modern” styled and not a part of their new throwback look.
Since technology has advanced over 75 years the uniform will be up-to-date with safety, Techfit Shockweb technology designed the jersey and the pants to keep the players fast, cool and mobile on the field.
