(Houston, TX) — As Halloween approaches, there are rumors that the Houston Zoo may be haunted by its former first zookeeper and lion tamer. The “Houston Chronicle” reports the German man, Hans Nagel started working for the city in 1922, dazzling visitors with his talent at taming wild beasts. HoustonPublic Library archives say Nagel used to carry a pistol all the time, and he was killed at the zoo in a questionable incident. Some people say at night his ghost haunts the Houston Zoo’s commissary.
