It might surprise you to know that the winner of Italy’s “The Voice” was a Nun named Sister Cristina Scuccia.
Although Sister Scuccia sang a rendition of Madonna’s 1984 “Like a Virgin”song, she and Madonna sang about 2 totally different things.
While dressed in a traditional Nun’s outfit, habit and all that goes with it, Sister Scuccia did a video around Venice while singing “Like a Virgin”. Sister Scuccia wasn’t singing what Madonna was singing about ha ha. No, she was singing with passion and singing about love, feeling the words with more love.
Sister Scuccia said, “the song is about the power of love to renew people and rescue them from their past.”
She also said, “We have transformed this song from the pop-dance piece, which it was, into a romantic ballad… something more similar to a lay prayer than to a pop piece.”
