One year before Jackie Robinson integrated the MLB, there were four men who have made history in integrating football.
In 1946, there was Kenny Washington, Woody Strode, Marion Motley and Bill Willis, the four men who integrated the football. It was during the WWII era and segregation was alive and enforced, but these four men found their way into the game.
The men who made it into the NFL were Washington and Strode, while Motley and Willis played for the Cleveland Browns in fledging All American Conference.

The documentary which aired on Sept. 23rd, 2014, is called “The Forgotten Four” with interviews with family members, historians and contemporaries.
