(HOUSTON) — Houston Texans rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney may have suffered a tear of his meniscus during Sunday’s season opener that could cost him multiple weeks.

Clowney, the number one overall pick in this past April’s draft, made one tackle — for a loss of nine yards — before leaving Sunday’s game. He is expected to undergo further testing and could potentially require arthroscopic surgery.

The Texans beat the Washington Washington Football Team 17-6 on Sunday despite Clowney’s early exit.
