The Houston Texans’, J.J. Watt’s contract extension has reached a deal. Everyone remembers a couple of weeks ago when J.J. Watt spoke out about his contract during their practicing in Denver… he had said that he was going to work no matter what they paid him, but he knew he deserved a raise.
Breaking news hit about 12:45 a.m. Tuesday that J.J. got his raise and now he’s the NFL’s highest paid Defensive end.

J.J. received a six-year contract extension worth $100 million. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says that this extension includes $51.876 million guaranteed. The contract doesn’t take effect until 2016.  The Bleacher Report’s Curtis Crabtree said ” Per Over The Cap, the Texans were going to pay Watt $1.91 million this season and $6.97 million in 2015. According to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, they’ve reworked those numbers. J.J. Watt will now make roughly $900,000 in base salary this season and $9.97 million in 2015 along with a $10 million signing bonus right away.
