At last night’s VMA’s, Miley Cyrus was awarded the video of the year for her song “Wrecking Ball”.

Instead of walking up and giving her acceptance speech herself, Miley sent a friend up to do the honors. The man who accepted her award was “Jesse”, a homeless LA youth. Jesse had some powerful words to say, “I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I have survived in shelters all over this city, I’ve cleaned your hotel rooms, I’ve been extra in your movies. I’ve been an extra in your life.” Jesse asked for people to go to Cyrus’ Facebook page and make a donation to a Hollywood homeless shelter for young people. Watch the video
