Project S.I.T.
(GALVESTON, TX) – Artist Boat is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote awareness and preservation of coastal margins and the marine environment through the disciplines of the sciences and the arts.
Currently, they are working on Project S.I.T. or Seawall Interpretive Trail.
It’s a beautification project approved by Galveston County to transform 70 Galveston Seawall benches into educational works of art that depict the coastal and ocean heritage of Galveston Island and the Gulf of Mexico.
Right now, they need your ideas for designs for seven of their benches.
They have specific categories they’d like for you to entertain:
- Silly Smelly Sargassum
- Affecting a Sea of Change
- A Blaze of Color
- Not your Average Dolphin
- Mall on the Dock
- Coral Corral
- Reel It In
