(HOUSTON)– Fireworks go on sale tomorrow, so we thought it would be a good idea to go over a few safety tips.

Fireworks have been part of America’s Fourth of July celebration since 1777.

Sue Davis is with top dog fireworks says you need to follow a few safety tips to make sure your Fourth of July is safe.

Here’s Davis’ list of recommendations for a fun and safe Independence Day party:

  1. Have an adult present.
  2. Have water nearby.
  3. Use eye protection.
  4. Fire them from an open space like a parking lot or cul de sac.
  5.  Use common sense.

“Don’t shoot fireworks at each other; don’t shoot them off the roof of a house,” Davis suggests.

News 92 FM reminds you, you transport fireworks through most cities, but you cannot fire them within the city limits.
