University of Missouri Tiger defensive end Michael Sam was the 249th pick of the NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. Normally this is not big news. But in February Sam announced on ESPN’s Outside The Lines that he is a proud gay man.
The Rams made Michael Sam the first openly gay man to be selected into the NFL. His emotional reaction was shown live on the NFL Network as Sam kissed his same sex partner.
