(HOUSTON) — Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel has a fan at Houston City Hall.

Mayor Annise Parker says the Heisman Trophy winner was not always her top choice, but his work ethic won her over.

“We need a quarterback,” Parker said. “Johnny Manziel many not be that quarterback, but he would certainly be an exciting player, and he would keep the fans in their seats, so here’s a vote for Johnny Manziel.”

Parker added that she thinks the Texans will actually draft Jadeveon Clowney out of University of South Carolina, and then pick a QB later.

Still, she joins the “Team Manziel” bandwagon and urges the Houston Texans to consider Johnny Football on NFL Draft Day, which is Thursday.

Texans Head Coach Bill O’Brien heard what Parker had to say.

“When her term is up, maybe she should come work for us,” he said. “I don’t know.”

Texans will have first pick in the draft.
