Actor and former fashion model Richard Roundtree is best known for his portrayal of private detective John Shaft in the 1971 film Shaft and in its two sequels, Shaft’s Big Score and Shaft in Africa.

Roundtree has starred in more than 150 films and TV shows, from Roots to Desperate Housewives. He now stars as Mary Jane’s father, Paul Patterson Sr. on the BET drama, Being Mary Jane.
He talked to The Madd Hatta Morning Show about getting his new role as Gabrielle Union‘s father and gives some quick advice about adultery.
