Grab your lawn chairs and blankets for this one-of-a-kind patriotic event that is done with a style that is all Houston. The iconic Houston skyline will set the backdrop for an extraordinary patriotic celebration at Mayor Annise Parker’s official Fourth of July event, Freedom Over Texas. This year’s headline performers include Billy Currington and Sara Evans.

With performers, crafts, activities, refreshments, and much more, join the the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston to celebrate Independence Day at Houston’s home for American decorative arts and paintings. A reading of the Declaration of Independence beings at 3 p.m. on the Diana Terrace of the Bayou Bend house and will be followed by birthday cake. And don’t forget to sign the giant replica of the Declaration of Independence before you leave to remind us the freedom and privileges we have in this country.

Enjoy an evening with the Houston Symphony and conductor, Michael Krajewski as they play patriotic classics. Joining them on stage will be Jonathan Beedle and AJ Swearingen performing music of Simon & Garfunkel. Be sure to stay for the finale of 1812 Overture, complete with booming cannons, as it will be followed by the fireworks spectacular provided by Miller Theatre Advisory Board. Open seating will be available on the hill while free tickets will also be available while they last for the covered seating area. Please keep it four tickets per person who are over the age of 16 as they can be picked up at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the event between 10:30am-1pm.

On the eve of Independence Day, the Houston Symphony will help ignite your patriotic spirit by performing for the annual Star-Spangled Salute, a free concert presented by The Woodlands Development Company. Led by Principal Pops Conductor, Michael Krajewski, the symphony will play a range of traditional American classics including “American Salute,” America the Beautiful,” Service Medley.” The show will also include its special feature of cannons from atop the hill will compliment Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.” Also joining the symphony on stage will be the duo of AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle who together will perform a variety of Simon & Garfunkel’s greatest hits including, “America,” “Homeward Bound,” and “Mrs. Robinson.”

 

15th Annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival & Fireworks Extravaganza

Town Green Park and Waterway Square, Woodlands, TX

This all-evening event celebrating the American Dream, will have two locations along the Waterway. Enjoy your Independence Day at both Town Green Park and Waterway Square, each featuring a main stage and activities for all ages. Entertainment will include live music from Fondue Monks, Fab 5, Soulshine and Coldshot. The festivities will also include face painting, games, vendor booths and concessions. But we can’t forget about the two American food staples for the Fourth of July, hot dogs and watermelon! There will be an eating contest for each of these, which are sponsored by HEB. End the night at the Waterway Square where you can watch the 23-minute fireworks extravaganza with the best view.

Join the Pearland community in celebrating our country’s independence! The celebration will begin with an explosion of excitement. The full-size carnival will be on-site at the event and will open at 2pm, while stadium and field seating will be available starting at 6pm. The evening’s entertainment will be welcomed by a VFW military salute and followed by the National Anthem. While enjoying activities, such as face painting, inflatables, jugglers and strolling magicians, sit back and relax to the sounds of Drywater as they play Top 40, R&B and Country music. You may bring your own food, as food will also be available for purchase. Admission is free and tickets for the carnival can be purchased on-site.

Being Pasadena’s largest city-sponsored event, 4th Fest provides fun activities for all ages throughout the evening. Before the 20-minute fireworks show at the end of the event, live music will be performed by The Slags, a Houston cover band that will play a range from today’s hits to the classics. Also included in the lineup of activities is the USMC Toys for Tots BBQ Cook-off, water balloon fights, a kidzone, sports, games and a car/truck show.

The Katy Freedom Celebration fireworks display will be launched between the east side of the mall and Katy Fort Bend Road. This display begins at approximately 9pm and can be viewed from several miles around the mall area.

July 4th Parade and Festival

The Fourth of July parade will begin at 9:30am, led by the children’s parade. To particiapte in the parade is free. However, only the first 75 applicants will be taken to march. Application for the parade can be found in link above. Kids of all ages can march in the parade with decorative and festive bikes, wagons and even costumes, and without entering in advance. Following promptly after the parade, which will roughly be around 10am, the festival begins at the Bellaire Town Square. There will be a petting zoo, moon jumps, carnival games – including a dunk tank – and a mini Ferris wheel. Food and game tickets will be available to purchase at the festival.

The Kingwood 4th of July Parade

The Kingwood Civic Club has organized this morning event, which will include activities like a fishing rodeo for kids that are 15 and younger. It will also include a bike-judging contest where participants can decorate their bikes for their chance to win a trophy. The parade will begin at 10am from Creekwood Middle School leading to the Kingwood High School. Judging for the floats of the parade will start before the parade at 9am.

This July 4th celebration is an evening event. Starting at 6pm, free activities, such as moonwalks, a rock wall, mechanical bulls and pony rides will be available to entertain all ages until 9pm. Food will be available on site for purchase. But come early as the first 600 kids will receive a free giveaway (must be 12 years old or under). Shortly fter the festivities, the fireworks show will start around 9:15pm. Thurgood Marshall High School’s parking lot, next to Buffalo Run Park, will be available for guests to park their cars at.

Independence Day Parade and Firework Show

July 4. 7:30pm – Parade (Along Seawall Boulevard from 28th Street to 53rd Street)

Join Galveston Island as they commemorate America’s freedom with their annual Independence Day Parade. The parade will begin at 7:30pm on Seawall Boulevard from 28th Street and will progress down to 53rd Street. It will feature local groups, performers, creative floats and decorated military vehicles. When the parade has ended, head over to 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard where Galveston will present a 20-minute long fireworks show at 9:15pm over the waters of the Gulf.
