It is clear that, despite public backlash, Beyonce’s latest track “Bown Down/I Been On” will continue to spur conversation about its lyrical content.
Now weighing in on the overconfident anthem, is songstress and long-time friend, Brandy Norwood. During an exclusive interview with The Grio, Norwood was asked to express her sentiments toward King Bey’s new song (which presently is unclear whether it’s an official single or just studio fun).
“You know what? I think art is freedom, you know what I’m saying? And you should be able to express yourself the way you choose to express yourself. Of course people are gonna have their own opinions. But opinion is opinion. I think art should be expressed the way it the way it should. I don’t love the song, but I love Beyoncé. I have to be honest.”
