The Sugarhill Gang is a hip hop group, known mostly for its 1979 hit “Rapper’s Delight,” the first hip hop single to become a Top 40 hit.
One of the many side notes about the song is that Sugarhill Gang band member, Big Bank Hank, who was a former bouncer and the former manager for the Cold Crush Brothers rap group, got Grandmaster Caz of that group to write his lyrics for his part in Rapper’s Delight.
Caz of The Cold Crush Brothers claims he never was credited, paid nor ever received a thank you.
