Gabby Douglas is the youngster that’s been garnering the brunt of headlines for her Olympic feats, but boxer Claressa Shieldsis another teen deserving of recognition. The Michigan native grabbed the gold medal Thursday (Aug. 9) in a 19-12 victory against Nadezda Torlopova of Russia.

At just 17-year-old, Shields dominated her 33-year-old opponent during the bout.  According to reports, the teen even taunted Torlopova by sticking her tongue out after ducking a few blows.

Thanks to the win, Shields became the only one on the 12-person American women’s team to earn a gold medal in London.
