Every year I have a weekend trip to Miami to relax and unwind.  I turn my phone off. I don’t  tweet or “instagram” during that time.  I just do the things that I want to do and absorb “peace of mind”.  Well, unfortunately this year my schedule was thrown off so I couldn’t go to Miami but I didn’t let that stop me from doing my “me time” trip.  I just flew to Dallas for a few days.  I stayed at the W Hotel downtown and spent my days by the pool and in the bed watching movies.  I had a few books that I wanted to catch up on so I read a lot during that time.  The Bliss Spa is also located in the hotel so OF COURSE I took advantage of the services.  I had a facial and a carrot/sesame seed body treatment! Whew!!! It was the best!!!  I needed it!

Relaxing does not mean that my routine needs to stop ya know!  I ran 4 miles at Katy Park which is right down the street from the hotel.  The park was gorgeous!!   I also worked out every day in the workout room that overlooked the city.  I still made sure that I ate well while I was there.  I drank my green tea every morning…ate turkey on wheat at the pool and healthy fruit and veggies throughout the day.

I think everyone deserves some me time.  Maybe it isn’t even a trip but just a few hours away from everything.  We all need time to regroup.  Work, school, kids and family can take a toll on us.  We are alway thinking and preparing for something.  Sometimes it feels good to clear your mind!!
