As Curiosity successfully landed on the martian terrain, NASA proved they had not lost their moxie!
The $2.5 billion Curiosity made a dramatic landing on Mars. While landing the largest and most sophisticated mobile robot ever launched to another planet and beating the “seven minutes of terror“, NASA‘s Mars Science Laboratory celebrated in hugs and high-fives. President Obama also called the success “an unprecedented feat of technology that will stand as a point of national pride far into the future.”
With almost 70% of previous missions to Mars ending in failure, the Curiosity mission will determine if Mars ever harbored the primary building of life: water.
