According to the TxDOT, there will be a total closure of all eastbound mainlanes of IH 10 East Freeway between US 59 Eastex and Gregg Street near downtown Houston over the weekend. The closure will allow crews to repair the Meadow Street Bridge east of downtown Houston that was struck by over-height trucks earlier this year.
Beginning Friday at 9:00 p.m. until Monday, August 6 at 5:00 a.m. all mainlanes of IH 10 East will be closed from US 59 Eastex Freeway to Gregg Street. Drivers traveling eastbound on IH 10 East Freeway will be detoured via the Jensen Street exit to the IH 10 eastbound frontage road. Motorists will be allowed to reenter the mainlanes of IH 10 using the Gregg Street entrance ramp.
Tx DOT provides a ist of additional closures scheduled to complete the repairs: “On Friday, August 3 at 8:00 p.m. until Monday, August 6 at 5 a.m. the IH 10 East Freeway entrance ramp from San Jacinto. Detour to Rothwell Street (IH 10 eastbound frontage road) to McKee. Turn right on McKee, left on Nance, right on Jensen, left onto Rothwell Street (IH 10 eastbound frontage road) to the Gregg Street entrance ramp.”
“On Friday, August 3 at 8:30 p.m. until Monday, August 6 at 5 a.m. the US 59 Eastex Freeway northbound connector to IH 10 eastbound.Detour to IH 10 westbound connector ramp and continue on IH 10 westbound to the San Jacinto St. exit. Take a left on San Jacinto and then take a left at Rothwell Street (IH 10 eastbound frontage road) to McKee. Take a right on McKee, left on Nance, right on Jensen, left on IH 10 eastbound frontage road to the Gregg Street entrance ramp.”

Turn right on McKee, left on Nance, right on Jensen, left onto IH 10 eastbound frontage road to the Gregg Street Entrance ramp.”
