Two trains collided Thursday morning causing a derailment in northwest Harris County. The trains were attempting to merge.
The accident was reported around 10:30 a.m. near Highway 249 and Fallbrook Drive. Although Hazmat crews were called to the scene, it did not appear the collision was of any danger to nearby residents.
Two tanker cars were left off the track and on their sides after the incident. It wasn’t clear if anyone was injured during the accident. After the incident, Fallbrook Drive was closed to traffic in both directions.
