Hip-Hop has had its fair share of monumental moments. It has also had those moments where things have been promised and hyped and has never come to fruition. Take Dr. Dre‘s Detox album, that mess was supposed to have hit the streets back when late eighties babies were just entering high school. We’ve all graduated and still no Detox.

Our friends at HipHopWired.com created a list of eight more things hip-hop heads hope for but will probably never see the light of day. Check out an excerpt below:

Jay Electronica’s Album Being Worth The Wait

If you have never heard of, or heard a song by Jay Electronica, we don’t blame you. As a matter of fact, we blame him. After sparking the game with his 2007 mixtape and Just Blaze produced “Exhibit C” in 2009, dude has literally released like one song every nine and a half months. Since signing with Roc Nation in 2010, J Elec’s debut album has been “coming soon,” with no tangible music as proof, only quotes from Jay-Z saying the album is great (that’s his boss, what else is he going to say). As a matter of fact, at this point, we are not even sure that Jay Electronica still raps, since he does more picture taking in foreign countries than making music. But if he does, and this album actually hits stores, the likelihood of it living up to the hype after all this time are probably slim, no Cash Money.
