Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is scheduled to address convention goers at the NAACP Convention in Downtown Houston Wednesday morning.

Romney’s speech in Houston is expected to show independent as well as swing voters that he’s willing to reach out to diverse and minority audiences. According to Romney’s advisers, Wednesday’s remarks to the historical civil rights organization will focus on the state of the economy. It is also likely that he will address his outlook and plan to increase school choice.

Romney, who is known to rarely speak to black audiences did speak to a predominately black charter school in Philadelphia earlier this year; during his address to the school, Romney spoke of cast fixing the education system as a measure that can assist blacks as well as other minorities.

Romney is an American businessman and nominee of the Republican Party for President of the United States in the 2012 election. He was the 70th Governor of the state of Massachusetts.
