Though he is getting that Hollywood money, LL Cool J can’t stay away from the microphone.

The man we’ve come to know as Uncle L announced he was in the studio working on a new album at a press conference for his new digital partnership with My Connect. LL spoke about the new project. “I’m going to be doing a little bit of the album on the [My Connect Studio], make sure that it is official,” LL expressed to the media. “And as a matter of fact I started on my album too. It’s authentic Hip Hop, it’s the business…it’s 2012, so it doesn’t sound like it would sound if it were 10 years ago or 20 years ago, but it’s definitely official. It’s a breath of fresh air. It doesn’t sound like anything that’s out right now. I think it’s crazy. It’s the business. It’s real.”

There’s no word on how far along the project is or when it will be released. LL’s last project dropped in 2008. Rap music has changed so much since LL Cool J has been apart of the game. Can LL make himself relevant again or have the times changed so drastically that LL won’t be able to compete in today’s rap climate? Sound off in the comments below.
