Launching his vaunted solo career 21 years ago, rap legend andGeto Boys co-founder Brad “Scarface” Jordan has amassed one of the most impressive rap catalogs of all time. Still considered by many a savvy and gritty lyricist, Face Mob continues to push on and proving that age in the rap game is just a number. Chicago radio station WGCI caught up with Face, and Chu of Darkside Music, and the Houston vet spoke on his split from Def Jam and promised a brand new LP as well.

Face, the former president of Def Jam South, was candid in his reasons for leaving the house Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons built. And it appears that a certain “King Of The South” could have landed on the label along with other big names. “I needed a bigger part of it, but they wanted to play like I wasn’t bringing business,” said a slightly agitated Scarface. “Like everything that’s hot right now, is what I brought it to Def Jam. From Rick Ross to T.I, Def Jam wouldn’t touch T.I.”
