Sextuplets were born to a Houston couple at Texas Children’s Hospital Monday.

According to reports, hospital officials confirmed that Lauren and David Perkins welcomed three boys and three girls weighing from 1 pound 10 ounces to 2 pounds 15 ounces Monday morning. Perkins and all six babies are stable, according to a hospital statement.

Perkins was 30 weeks and one day into her pregnancy.

The multiple birth was the result of assisted reproductive technology.

The sextuplets were conceived using intra-uterine insemination with ovulatory stimulating drugs, according to the family’s website and a statement from the hospital.

The Perkins are declining interviews at this time, the statement said.

This is the second such set ever born locally.
