A new documentary co-directed by Ice-T called Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap will be screening at this weekend’s annual Sundance Film Festival. Billboard interviewedthe veteran rapper/actor about the film, which delves into the artistry behind writing rhymes.
“I was looking at the terrain of hip-hop and where it’s going,” Ice Cube told Billboard. “A lot of the kids don’t even know where it started, and I said, ‘I wanna go and document the craft–not the money, not the cars, not the girls, the craft.'”
