11-year-old Nate Smith made an incredible hockey shot to win a $50,000 prize at a celebrity fundraiser hockey game in Faribult, Minn., on Thursday. But wait … the person who was supposed to take the shot was Nate’s identical twin brother, Nick, who won a raffle to earn the attempt. But when it came time to take the shot, Nick was nowhere to be found (outside chasing butterflies or cars or something), so Nate took the shot in his place. It was pretty amazing — Nate had to send a three-inch hockey puck through a 3 1/2-inch slot from a distance of 89 feet. And … goal! But will he be able to collect?
After signing documents at the fundraiser stating that Nick made the shot, their dad, Pat Smith, had an attack of conscience the next day.
