(Morrow, GA)  — A man dressed as an elf who allegedly told a metro Atlanta mall Santa that he was carrying dynamite is being held without bond.  William Caldwell the Third is facing charges including making terroristic threats and reckless conduct.  The “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” reports that after examining three packages left near the Santa at the Southlake Mall last night,  the Georgia Bureau of Investigation determined that the threat was a hoax.

Police say the 45-year-old Caldwell, who stands five feet tall and weighs 108 pounds, played the elf role well until he got to the Santa display and announced he had dynamite in his bag.  That’s when Santa alerted security and Morrow Police arrested Caldwell.  Southlake Mall was evacuated and closed for the remainder of the night.
